Diamond Series and Circle SeriesThe new Diamond and Circle Series will be shown at the in New Orleans in Spring 2007 (pending the hurricane recovery programme), alongside a major 50 year retrospective of New Orleans native Kendall Shaw, one of the founders of the New York Pattern and Decoration movement of painters in the late 1970s. A major essay by Bruce Russell and published by Frari Books will accompany this show. Russell is also curating a version of the show to come to the UK in 2007-8; this will coincide with [meta-] co-curated by the noted painter and critic David Ryan, updating and extending Russell's “5x20” show into a touring survey show and catalogue of current middle-generation abstract painters in the UK. |
